Working with Oakunsheyld Consulting was a transformative and impactful experience. Andrea’s planning expertise and anti-oppressive approach were invaluable assets to our time together. Her work on our 2021 Homelessness Situation Analysis Report and 2022-2032 Strategic Plan empowered the Task Force to continue our work in a more human-centred way. Her time with us revolutionized our path going forward– she thoroughly understood our work and where we needed to grow. I have deep gratitude for Andrea’s collaborative and organizational skills, strategic approach, and her guiding values.

“I highly recommend working with Andrea early in your grief or loss process. Connecting with Andrea early helped me make better choices throughout the loss process. Andrea provided concrete support and tools for a loss I was not prepared to face and helped me provide intentional support to my family members.

Andrea was so generous providing a follow up email and supporting me with unexpected aspects of the grief journey. The concrete nature of Andrea’s support in a time of uncertainty exceeded my expectations and her level of generosity is unmatched. Don’t delay, get in touch when you feel the need for support. Andrea is accessible and able to meet your needs where you’re at. ”

Keltie, Andrea, Lara, and Luna completed a research review and community listening that fed into our strategic planning process. From a research and reporting perspective - I was impressed by how Keltie and Andrea took a wide range of topics and organized them into a research framework and questions that resonated for our organization. The completed research report brought all the findings together in a way that was easy to digest and was both practical and inspiring. The report was a key input into our strategic planning process and supported thinking from a wider lens, helped to generate important discussion and supported alignment on areas of greatest impact.

In general, from a project planning perspective, I appreciated the team’s detailed planning and flexibility as needs emerged, the frank and open dialogue and the collaboration to meet important outcomes with the best approach. Thank you all!

Keltie, Andrea, Luna, and Ginger deeply understood the work we were trying to do on climate justice, including the challenges and opportunities involved, and devised a process to guide city staff and the working group members to a rewarding outcome. It was great messy, emergent work that couldn't have happened without the collective expertise and skill of the consulting team.

Lara and Andrea are a dream facilitation and planning team. They worked with us on an extensive strategic planning process over about XX months, during the early period of the pandemic. This was my first experience leading an organization and working closely with external facilitators. We were blown away by how intuitive and dynamic their approach is to supporting individual and organizational growth and change. They were able to draw out insights and reflections from staff, and find the space to help us move through stickiness and discomfort. I especially endorse their approach of giving us tools to try out, refine based on what we learn, and continuing to iterate as we get closer to finding ourselves in places of possibility. They brought deep insight about change management, strong relationship and communication skills and a pragmatic focus into their work with us, and we’re a more trusting, creative and synergistic organization because of it.

I first met Andrea as a grad student completing her Master's degree. I was immediately struck by Andrea's calm presence and openness to discuss hard topics with integrity, intelligence, and a sense of humour. Andrea is a person who shows up. Shows up to do the work, to send encouragement, to do the things she said she would. I am inspired to be my full self with Andrea, whose caring nature shines through in all she does. I have no hesitation to recommend Andrea as a good human, with abundant skills and creativity that will add value to whatever she chooses to be part of.

I have learned an immense amount from my collaboration with Andrea, and was grateful for her leadership and support as we co-developed a 10-year strategy for the North Shore Homelessness Task Force. Andrea's passion for creating positive community change, her courage to push for equity and bring an anti-oppression lens to all of her work, and her rock-solid delivery of quality deliverables made her a delight to work with. I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to work with Andrea, and look forward to the next time we can collaborate again.

I have had the pleasure of working with Andrea and Lara on several projects, and I refer to them as 'the dream team.' From the outset, it was evident that working together feels different than a typical planning exercise - more relationship-driven, with a strong commitment to mirroring values in the process and in the outcome. Both Lara and Andrea are talented researchers, skilled writers, and draw on deep experience in policy and engagement/facilitation. They push a project to be better, and look for opportunities to bring in new perspectives and ideas. Collaborating with Andrea and Lara has resulted not just in successful projects for happy clients, but learning and growth for me as a planner. I welcome the opportunity to work together again in the future!

I've had the privilege of working with Lara and Andrea as consultants and colleagues in a number of planning and equity-related projects. Their grounded approach, guided by their passion and thoughtfulness which has made a lasting impression on me. Both Andrea and Lara bring intersectional lenses and unique perspective to every conversation, enriching my understanding of equity and justice. Together, they form an incredible team, complementing each other's strengths and creating a collaborative force that is truly remarkable. Interacting with them is always a joy, as their lightness, laughter, and wisdom always leave me feeling uplifted and inspired. I eagerly anticipate their ongoing contributions to advancing equity, justice, and decolonization. Working alongside them has been an honor, and I look forward to witnessing the positive change they will bring to our field.
